A Design, Technology & Engineering workbook for Bromley High School — combining attainment descriptors, effort tracking, literacy prompts, workshop safety activities, and practical design tasks in one department-branded resource designed to improve consistency, independence, and presentation across DT lessons.
Bromley High School wanted a workbook that could support both practical DT work and wider department expectations around presentation, assessment, and independent learning. The aim was to create a single branded resource students could use across Design, Technology & Engineering lessons while reinforcing workshop routines, literacy, and technical understanding.
We designed a bespoke workbook that combined attainment and effort tracking with structured practical activities. The book included visual attainment descriptors, effort-grade criteria, personalised target-setting sections, SPaG and keyword panels, and dedicated workshop health-and-safety pages focused on tools, equipment, and safe working practices. The layout gave teachers a consistent framework for assessment and feedback while helping students organise and reflect on their work more effectively.
The finished workbook gave the department a more consistent approach to practical learning, literacy, and assessment, while providing students with a professional resource that supported both workshop learning and independent progress throughout the year. The books were printed in the UK and fully carbon balanced from print through to delivery.
