A bespoke Design & Technology workbook for Ely College — combining structured note-taking, literacy support, peer and self-assessment, and subject-specific vocabulary in a visually distinctive format designed to improve presentation, independence, and reflection in DT lessons.
Ely College wanted a flexible Design & Technology workbook that would support both practical and written work while reinforcing literacy and independent learning across the department. The aim was to create a clean, professional resource students could use for note-taking, feedback, reflection, and subject vocabulary throughout the year.
We designed a bespoke workbook with a bold geometric cover and a series of structured internal layouts, including dotted-grid pages for sketching and annotation, checklist and keyword panels, peer/self-assessment sections, spelling support pages, and dedicated areas for reflection and note-taking. The book also included a reference bank of commonly misspelt words to support literacy across written DT work.
The finished workbook gave the department a consistent framework for presentation, literacy, and feedback while providing students with a more organised and professional way to record and develop their design work. The books were produced using carbon-balanced printing and environmentally responsible materials.
