A bespoke exercise book for Halifax Academy — combining attitudes-to-learning prompts, literacy support, feedback structures, and discussion scaffolds in one flexible resource designed to improve presentation, reflection, and student engagement across subjects.
Halifax Academy wanted a flexible exercise book that would reinforce the school’s attitudes-to-learning approach while supporting literacy, feedback, and classroom routines across the curriculum. The aim was to create a consistent student resource that encouraged reflection, participation, and independent learning habits.
We designed a bespoke exercise book featuring attitudes-to-learning self-assessment pages, exercise book expectations, structured keyword and key-fact layouts, WWW feedback sections, notes and ideas pages, sentence stems for classroom discussion, listening prompts, and literacy marking codes. The book gave teachers a consistent framework for feedback and student reflection while supporting oracy, literacy, and classroom participation across lessons.
The finished exercise book supported a more unified approach to learning behaviours, literacy, and student self-reflection while giving pupils a practical resource aligned closely to the academy’s wider ethos and classroom expectations. The books were printed in the UK using carbon-balanced production and environmentally responsible materials.
