Heworth Grange School — A cross-curricular exercise book built around targets, feedback, and high standards

Heworth Grange School wanted an exercise book that reinforced high expectations around presentation, feedback, and student progress while giving pupils a more active role in reflecting on their learning. The aim was to create a consistent resource that supported both classroom routines and independent improvement across the curriculum.

We designed a bespoke exercise book featuring target-setting and progress-tracking pages, exercise book expectations, spelling and literacy prompts, structured reflection areas, and dedicated WWW/EBI feedback sections. The book also included self-check panels for accuracy and presentation, retrieval-focused “Key Points & Facts” prompts, and behaviour and effort descriptors to reinforce the school’s expectations around learning habits and student responsibility.

The finished exercise book gave teachers a consistent framework for feedback, reflection, and presentation while helping students take greater ownership of their learning and progress across the school year. The books were printed in the UK using carbon-balanced production and environmentally responsible materials.
