Highfield School wanted a science workbook that would reinforce practical laboratory expectations while supporting feedback, literacy, and independent learning across the department. The aim was to create a consistent resource students could use for practical work, reflection, and revision throughout the year.
We designed a bespoke workbook featuring a dedicated laboratory code for practical safety, target-setting and progress-tracking pages, WWW/EBI feedback sections, literacy marking codes, spelling support pages, and structured response-to-feedback prompts. The book also included visual spreads exploring the qualities of successful scientists, helping reinforce curiosity, resilience, investigation skills, and scientific thinking alongside classroom learning.
The finished workbook gave the science department a consistent framework for practical expectations, feedback, and reflection while helping students take greater ownership of their learning and scientific development throughout the year. The books were printed in the UK using carbon-balanced production and environmentally responsible materials.
