A bespoke whole-school exercise book for Madeley School — combining assessment tracking, literacy support, behaviour expectations, and reflective learning tools in one structured resource designed to improve presentation, student progress, and independent learning across subjects.
Madeley School wanted a lined exercise book that would reinforce the school’s expectations around effort, progress, literacy, and behaviour while giving students clearer ownership of their learning across the curriculum. The aim was to create a consistent resource that supported reflection, organisation, and academic progress in every subject area.
We designed a bespoke exercise book featuring assessment and target-tracking pages, “flight path” progress monitoring, spelling-support strategies, literacy marking codes, presentation expectations, and reflective self-assessment sections. The book also included behaviour-for-learning guidance, command-word reference pages, connectives and extended-writing support, and structured proofreading prompts to strengthen literacy and independent study habits across lessons.
The finished exercise book gave staff a consistent framework for feedback, progress monitoring, and literacy while helping students develop stronger organisation, resilience, and responsibility for their learning throughout the school year. The books were printed in the UK using carbon-balanced production and environmentally responsible materials.
