Mount Carmel Roman Catholic High School wanted a workbook that would support learning across both Art & Design and Design Technology while reinforcing the wider skills students need to succeed. The aim was to create a resource that connected literacy, numeracy, design thinking, and creativity within a single subject-focused workbook.
We designed a bespoke workbook featuring illustrated numeracy reference pages tailored to Art & Design and Design Technology, covering scale, proportion, ratio, symmetry, tessellation, perspective, technical drawing, enlargement, and construction techniques. The book also included subject-specific note pages, spelling-development sections, and high-frequency vocabulary lists to strengthen literacy alongside creative and technical learning.
The finished workbook gave teachers a practical way to embed literacy and numeracy within creative subjects while helping students develop stronger technical understanding, visual communication skills, and confidence in both Art & Design and Design Technology. The books were printed in the UK using carbon-balanced production and environmentally responsible materials.
